Small Business. Big Dreams.
COULD A TEN-YEAR-OLD INVENT THE NEXT UBER?
Find out at the Acton Children’s Business Fair Sioux Falls, showcasing young, entrepreneurial genius!
On Thursday, June 17, from 4-6 p.m. the inaugural Acton Academy Sioux Falls Children’s Business Fair will host up to 20 young entrepreneurs at the weekly Lake Lorraine Farmer’s Market. This event is FREE to attend and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Children will create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interacting with customers.
An awards ceremony will take place at the end of the event. Awards will be presented for “Most Business Potential,” “Most Creative Idea,” and “Most Impressive Presentation.”
The fair is part of the weekly Farmers Market, which is held on the east side of the development in the parking lot south of Hobby Lobby. Farmers market vendors will be selling vegetables, plants, baked goods and more, from 4-7 p.m.
This event is sponsored by Acton Academy, Lake Lorraine, the Acton School of Business, and the generous support of donors and volunteers, who all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.
Whether an entrepreneur is famous, like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey, or one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these entrepreneurs are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs, and serve their communities.
“At Acton Academy Sioux Falls, we believe that children learn by doing. The Children’s Business Fair gives young people the opportunity to apply their knowledge and learn new skills, all while getting a head start on their life’s calling,” said Aaron Johnson, Co-Founder of Acton Academy Sioux Falls, one of the sponsors of the fair.

All children, ages 6-15, are encouraged to apply. There is a $20 booth fee, which will cover advertising costs, signage and other organizational materials. Application deadline is June 6th.
